During an address marking the fourth anniversary of the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskiy showed the bunker where he spent the first months of the invasion. In the video, he also walked through corridors decorated with patriotic posters.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy marked four years since Russia promised to take Kyiv in three days, saying that Ukraine’s survival is the result of the courage, endurance, and daily work of millions of Ukrainians. He recalled the first days working from a bunker on Bankova Street, coordinating with the military and world leaders to secure weapons, medicine, and food for besieged cities.
Zelenskiy said that despite immense pain and nightly terror, Ukrainians have not allowed anger to consume them and continue to transform it into strength. He added that Russia cannot defeat Ukraine on the battlefield and is instead attacking civilian infrastructure.
He thanked international partners for standing with Ukraine saying that Kyiv seeks a just, lasting peace. According to Zelenskiy, any future agreement must provide real security guarantees and be accepted by the Ukrainian people.
