During the National Assembly–Government question-and-answer session, Civil Contract faction MP Marina Ghazaryan asked Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan what significance the 'Zayed' Human Fraternity Award he received could have for Armenia.
“What does it give to Armenia? Not only to Armenia, because not only Armenia received the award. As I had the opportunity to note in my speech there, the fact that both the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan accepted that award and went before an authoritative international audience to receive it means that both sides once again, at the highest level, record that peace has been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Of course, I say again, as I said in my August 8, 2025 message, peace always requires care; our peace today also requires care, and this increases Armenia’s visibility.
It increases the visibility of peace between us and Azerbaijan, raises interest, improves the investment environment, and in general creates a positive atmosphere around our country, and it is very honorable. I am very grateful to the members of the awarding committee; I have expressed my gratitude to them and told them that the issue is not that I or Armenia have been awarded a prize, this is a direct or indirect manifestation of the international community’s support for the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan and an investment in strengthening that peace. Of course, the members of the awarding committee are very respectable individuals, representing various organizations from different parts of the world, but all of them are authoritative,” the Prime Minister said.
“What has happened since August 8 proves that peace has been established. I say again, this does not mean that all issues related to the conflict have been resolved, but the conflict is over, which creates a very important prerequisite for resolving issues related to the conflict. We must be able to use those prerequisites correctly, because sometimes actions that seem obvious are not the most appropriate way to respond,” Nikol Pashinyan stated.
