Several former senior officials have been arrested in Iran on charges of involvement in an attempt to destabilize the regime.
According to Iranian news agencies, at least four political figures have been detained, including former ministers as well as prominent public figures who previously held key positions in the government. The names of all those arrested have not been officially disclosed.
The arrests took place about one month after the dispersal of mass protest demonstrations.
