Germany’s Foreign Ministry welcomed the delivery of a second batch of Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia in less than a month.
“It is encouraging to see important steps being taken toward normalizing trade relations in the region,” the statement said, issued by the Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia Department of the German Foreign Ministry.
Earlier, it was announced that a second shipment of petroleum products from Azerbaijan is heading to Armenia. According to Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan, it includes several thousand tons of premium and regular-grade gasoline, as well as diesel fuel. Preliminary estimates indicate that fuel prices will be 80 drams lower than market prices.
Azerbaijani media reported on January 7 that Baku would send a shipment of petroleum products to Armenia. It was noted that this time Armenia would receive 1,000 tons of AI-92 gasoline, the same amount of diesel fuel, and 1,800 tons of AI-95 gasoline.
