Armenia's Foreign Ministry described 2025 as a pivotal year for the Armenia-EU partnership.
In a statement on social media, the Ministry pointed out the significant achievements of the year in this regard.
The Foreign Ministry said that in 2025 cooperation between Armenia and the European Union in the fields of defense and security expanded, consultations on Armenia–EU security and defense were launched, and the agreement defining the framework for the participation of the Republic of Armenia in EU crisis management operations was signed and entered into force.
The term of the EU monitoring mission in Armenia has been extended as an important factor contributing to stability, and consensus has been reached among EU member states on a second allocation of support to Armenia under the European Peace Facility.
Progress has been made in the visa liberalization dialogue, aimed at delivering tangible results for Armenian citizens.
The second phase of financing under the 'Resilience and Growth Plan' for Armenia (€202.5 million) is being implemented.
An agreement has been reached regarding the organization of upcoming major events.
Armenia has been selected to host the Spring 2026 summit of the European Political Community.
The first Armenia–EU summit will take place in May 2026.
The year concluded with the adoption of the Strategic Agenda for the EU-Armenia Partnership, marking a new and more ambitious phase in the partnership, with a shared vision and responsibility aimed at ensuring continuous concrete results in key areas.
“The deepening of the Armenia–EU partnership reflects the European aspirations of Armenian citizens. The National Assembly of Armenia has adopted the law ‘On Launching the Process of Armenia’s Accession to the European Union,” the Foreign Ministry said.
