During the year-end briefing, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov touched upon relations with Russia.
“Despite the tension in relations with Russia this year, some dialogues nevertheless took place,” the Minister said.
According to him, the meeting between the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan in Dushanbe also played a significant role in easing relations. Bayramov noted that Baku continued intensive contacts with Turkey, Georgia and Iran, as well as the countries of Central Asia.
Regarding the possible opening of the 'Russian House' in Baku, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister stated: “The 'Russian House' has been operating in Azerbaijan without registration, which is why the institution has been warned at certain times. However, there have been other violations. Therefore, a decision has been made to close this structure.”
Bayramov emphasized that the activities of such and other institutions must comply with national legislation, and the unilateral activities of these structures are unacceptable.
