An Armenian Ministry of Defense delegation led by Levon Ayvazyan, Head of the Department of Defense Policy and International Cooperation, participated in the Armenia–France Bilateral Strategic Defense Consultations held in Paris on December 15–16, the defense ministry said in a press release.
During the consultations, Ayvazyan met with Guillaume Ollagnier, the newly appointed Director of the Department of International Relations and Strategy at the French Ministry of the Armed Forces. Discussions were also held with Lt. Gen. Éric Peltier, Deputy Director of the same department.
The work carried out in 2025 within the framework of cooperation was reviewed, and plans for the following year were outlined. The parties emphasized the importance of giving bilateral cooperation strategic substance and an institutional character.
Following the consultations, the Armenia–France Defense Cooperation Plan for 2026 was signed, encompassing several dozen activities across nearly all areas of the armed forces.
It was also decided that the next strategic defense consultations will be held in Yerevan.
