Among the non-reportable draft decisions included in the Government’s December 4 session is the draft decision on ratifying the Memorandum of Understanding “On Mutual Recognition and Exchange of Driver’s Licenses Issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates”.
According to the document, the Memorandum of Understanding on the mutual recognition and exchange of driver’s licenses issued by the UAE Ministry of Interior will regulate the legal relations connected with driver’s licenses of Armenia and the UAE. Each party to the memorandum recognizes valid driver’s licenses issued to citizens of the other party who arrive for non-residential purposes.
For citizens arriving for residential purposes, each party exempts applicants for the exchange of a driver’s license issued by the other party from the related theoretical and practical examinations.
According to the justification of the draft decision, ratifying the memorandum will contribute to expanding cooperation with Middle Eastern countries in areas of mutual interest.
