A meeting was held between the deputy prime ministers of Azerbaijan and Russia. Shahin Mustafayev and Alexander Novak discussed relations between the two countries, cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, and transport, and emphasized that economic ties are developing dynamically. The officials noted that the recent Putin–Aliyev meeting in Dushanbe has served as an impetus for the development of bilateral relations.
The first deputy director of Russian Railways also addressed contacts with Azerbaijan. According to Sergey Pavlov, the two sides are jointly resolving any difficulties related to railway transportation. He expressed confidence that opening the transit route through Azerbaijan toward Armenia creates additional logistical opportunities. “The first trial cargo shipment has already been carried out. It is evident that this route is among the most efficient options. The sides are now working to clarify the types of cargo that may be used for export, import, and transit,” the official detailed.
