The delegation led by the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the RA National Assembly Babken Tunyan participated in the work of the 66th PABSEC of the General Assembly held in Sofia. The deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction Sergey Bagratyan and the deputy of the NA Armenia Faction Gegham Manukyan were in the delegation.
a number of important procedural and substantive issues, including the approval of new members in delegations, the process of transferring the BSEC PA presidency, the election of vice-chairs, as well as financial discussions regarding the 2026 budget were on the agenda of the Assembly.
The organization adopted a joint statement by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) on the situation in Gaza and humanitarian assistance.
The delegation members participated in a general debate dedicated to the development of cooperation with the European Union and other international and regional organizations.
One of the key topics of discussion in the committees was the role of artificial intelligence in the process of sustainable socio-economic development in the BSEC region, in the context of its application and impact in the economic, legal, and social spheres.
Babken Tunyan reaffirmed the commitment of Armenia to strengthen the regional dialogue, to boost sustainable development and to expand parliamentary cooperation in the Black Sea region, underscoring the continuous engagement of Armenia in the constructive multilateral processes for the benefit of regional stability, economic growth and innovation development. He touched upon the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, highlighting the importance of efforts aimed at establishing stability and peace in the region.
At the end of the Assembly the presidency of the PABSEC next, 67th Session was handed over from Bulgaria to Georgia.
