Armenia and Kazakhstan are expected to sign more than ten highly significant cooperation documents during Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s official visit to the Central Asian country.
Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, speaking at a press briefing in Astana, highlighted the economic components of these documents.
“The recent logistical developments indicate significant potential for cooperation,” Grigoryan said, referring to the shipment of Kazakh wheat to Armenia via railway.
“The transit potential is very high and should be utilized by business operators. We will try to provide incentives to make this happen. If there is an alternative route through which new logistical solutions can be implemented, it should be explored. Logistics costs are very important in international trade today. In this regard, finding logistical solutions with Kazakhstan offers a great opportunity,” said Grigoryan.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that new logistical solutions inevitably affect prices in existing markets.
Speaking about the TRIPP project as well as the Crossroads of Peace project, Grigoryan said that Armenia has repeatedly stressed their significant regional importance. “When we complete these projects, you will see the adaptations taking place in the region in terms of logistics,” he added, noting that the Crossroads of Peace project will have major logistical significance in the region.
He also noted that logistics and trade issues will be key items on the agenda of meetings with Kazakh partners. Grigoryan emphasized that Kazakhstan will also benefit from the Crossroads of Peace project.
