Armenia's President Vahagn Khachaturyan said he discussed the bilateral partnership in various areas with his Georgian counterpart, Mikheil Kavelashvili.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Kavelashvili in Tbilisi, the Armenian President said they discussed the next steps for the continued development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The President of Armenia expressed his gratitude to the President of Georgia for the warm hospitality, adding that this meeting once again underscores the importance of the strong and friendly relations between the two countries.
“For Armenia and the Armenian people, the Armenia-Georgia relationship, based on centuries-old history, traditions, and mutual respect, holds special significance. The recent high- and highest-level reciprocal visits and the frequency of bilateral contacts are clear evidence of the intensity of relations between Armenia and Georgia,’ the Armenian President said.
President Khachaturyan said that the close cooperation between the two states has brought the parties to a historic milestone, where bilateral cooperation has reached the level of strategic partnership - although it is no secret that Armenia and Georgia’s cooperation has always had a strategic character, it is now also formally recognized at the official level.
“Today, I had quite effective and substantive discussions with my esteemed counterpart. During our talks with President Kavelashvili, we addressed bilateral multifaceted cooperation and the next steps aimed at the continued development of the strategic partnership between Armenia and Georgia,” the Armenian President said.
Khachaturyan arrived in Georgia on November 19 for a two-day official visit.
