Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, during his visit to India, visited the Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone (AMTZ), a medical technology park and one of the world’s largest medical technology manufacturing clusters, where over 100 companies are working on the research, development, and production of life-saving equipment.
Papoyan earlier participated in the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India.
He visited the medical technology park at the invitation of India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal.
During the tour, Minister Papoyan was introduced to state-of-the-art production and research infrastructure, including specialized laboratories, testing centers, and storage facilities, the Ministry of Economy said in a press release.
The Minister presented Armenia’s free economic zones and emphasized plans to establish industrial zones in the country equipped with the necessary infrastructure for various sectors.
Minister Gevorg Papoyan invited the Indian enterprise to explore investment opportunities in the planned industrial zones in Armenia. Such investments would benefit from favorable conditions, including government support tools, tax incentives, and other facilitating mechanisms, enabling products to be offered on the international market at competitive prices.
Armenian Ambassador to India, Vahagn Afyan, accompanied the Economy Minister during the visit.
