Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili engaged with Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan to review Georgia-Armenia political, economic, cultural and educational relations and prospects to further deepen bilateral cooperation, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
During the meeting at the Orbeliani Presidential Palace, the President and Armenian FM remarked that the Strategic Partnership Agreement signed in 2024 is another confirmation of strong friendly relations and paves the way for deeper and more comprehensive cooperation in all areas.
Mikheil Kavelashvili and Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that amid a tense global geopolitical situation, Georgia and Armenia continue the development and intensification of political, economic and people-to-people ties.
The President focused on the Armenian President’s upcoming visit to Georgia. He also reiterated that Georgia unconditionally welcomes the peace agreement concluded between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“We hope that Armenia and Azerbaijan will sign a peace agreement in the near future that will upgrade the dynamics of positive developments in the South Caucasus, highlighting the region’s attractiveness. Georgia’s support for the establishment of peace and stability is unwavering and it is ready to continue contributing to the process,” Mikheil Kavelashvili said.
In conclusion, the President thanked the Armenian FM for Armenia’s support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. He underscored that Georgia unconditionally supported Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
