Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Armenia is considering two options for granting development rights for the TRIPP project: a 49-year term and a 99-year term.
“The enterprise will be granted development rights, with the key feature being that, once the term of the development rights expires, all property on the land will become the property of the Republic of Armenia, while the land itself will always remain Armenia’s property. Why are these terms being set this way? Investments will be made, and the investor needs certain guarantees that they will recover their investment with a reasonable profit margin. If we were to grant the land for only five years, no one would invest, because it would be unrealistic to recoup such an investment in that short period,” Pashinyan said during the Crossroads of Peace: Advancing Regional Connectivity and Cooperation international conference organized by Civil Contract Party and Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan added that the discussions regarding the term are purely financial and economic, with no political component involved.
