The Turkish Ministry of National Defense reported that a Turkish C-130 military transport aircraft, which had departed from Azerbaijan and crashed in Georgia, was carrying 20 Turkish servicemen, including crew members. No one survived the crash.
According to the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the aircraft crashed in the Sighnaghi municipality area, approximately 5 kilometers from the state border with Azerbaijan.
The Georgian statement noted that the plane did not send any distress signal and disappeared from radar a few minutes after entering Georgian airspace.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that the aircraft had departed from the city of Ganja, Azerbaijan.
