On November 7, the RA NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan met with the Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council of the Arab United Emirates Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi.
Welcoming the guests, Hakob Arshakyan noted that Armenia greatly highlights the stable development of friendly bilateral relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“The current high-level inter-state relations between Armenia and the United Arab Emirates are bilaterally binding, and I hope that our countries will continue the good traditions of cooperation for the benefit of the friendly peoples of Armenia and the UAE,” the NA Vice President said.
He noted that Armenia seeks to develop and strengthen its friendly ties with the UAE, as well as expand cooperation in all possible fields of mutual interest.
Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi expressed his gratitude for warm reception. He conveyed the warm greetings of the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh, Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qassim to Hakob Arshakyan.
The Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council noted that Sharjah is one of the most important and cultural centres, where the Arab traditional spirit is preserved. He spoke about the Armenian community in Sharjah, underlining that despite its similarities with other communities, it has its own unique characteristics. The Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council expressed his willingness to deepen cooperation between the two countries.
Hakob Arshakyan spoke about the initialing of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations, which took place on August 8, 2025 in Washington. He stressed that the establishment of peace will open wide opportunities in the region. Regarding to the Crossroads of Peace project authored by the Government, the NA Vice President noted that it is the roadmap of Armenia towards sustainable peace, which is based on the principles of jurisdiction, sovereignty, reciprocity and equality of countries.
Both sides noted that there is unrealized potential for cooperation. In particular, reference was made to the fields of high and information technologies, education, science.
Within the framework of his visit Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi will give a lecture in the Leadership School.
