Reuters. U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on Thursday (October 23) that President Donald Trump's policy remains that the occupied West Bank won't be annexed by Israel.
He told reporters in Tel Aviv that he "feels pretty good" about the Gaza ceasefire after his talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Vance's comments came after a bill applying Israeli law to the occupied West Bank, a move tantamount to annexation of land that Palestinians want for an independent state, won preliminary approval from Israel's parliament on Wednesday (October 22).
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned that moves by Israel's parliament toward the annexation of the West Bank could threaten President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, which has yielded a shaky ceasefire so far.
