“The ministers were very clear on the rule of law and human rights situation that it continues to deteriorate in Georgia,” said Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, at a press conference following a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers in Luxembourg.
According to Kallas, “personal attacks against European ambassadors are unacceptable and have no place in diplomacy”, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
“The European Commission will present its visa suspension mechanism report later this year. With the new regulations on visas entering into force in November. This will give us the opportunity to cancel the visa-free regime for some groups,” Kallas said.
