During a government press briefing, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the question of whether new border delimitation works are planned between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and whether they could be linked to the unblocking of communications, for example, by continuing the process from the south.
According to Pashinyan, there will be no direct interconnection, but the logic is as follows: “In the places where construction of communication routes is set to begin, it is assumed — and it is logical — that in those segments (to the extent necessary for the infrastructure to pass through) border delimitation and demarcation will also take place, so that infrastructure can be built in that area and it’s clear where exactly the border runs.
This, by and large, is not directly connected to the overall border delimitation process, which will continue in its own logic. But on the other hand, it is delimitation related to the implementation of communications and the ‘TRIPP route’ project — meaning that border delimitation is part of this process”.
