A delegation led by Armenia’s Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan is taking part in the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, which have kicked off in Washington, D.C.
During a series of bilateral meetings, representatives of Armenia’s Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank held effective and constructive discussions with senior IMF officials. The talks focused on Armenia’s macroeconomic situation, fiscal policy, recent developments in the sector, and future projections.
The parties reviewed the key economic indicators set within the framework of the new IMF-supported Stand-By Arrangement and discussed priority directions for further cooperation.
The discussions also emphasized the importance of deepening regional economic cooperation to advance reforms under the Peace Agenda and to implement investment programs aimed at developing sustainable infrastructure. In this context, the new IMF program is expected to play a vital role in strengthening Armenia’s economic stability and ensuring the continuity of reforms, thereby contributing to a safer and more prosperous future.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen their partnership and explore opportunities for the implementation of new joint initiatives.
