“As the OSCE Chair-in-Office, I want to emphasize that we deeply appreciate Armenia’s longstanding commitment and dedication to this organization. We warmly welcome the significant steps you have taken toward peace with Azerbaijan, particularly the agreement reached in Washington on August 8”, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland Elina Valtonen stated at a joint press conference with Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
“We have consistently observed Armenia’s support for the peace agenda, despite challenges and obstacles. I also welcome your joint initiative to bring the work of the OSCE Minsk Group to a close. We hope that this process will be completed no later than December.
The OSCE stands ready to continue and expand cooperation in areas where Armenia can add value — and where the OSCE can also bring added value.
It is crucial to consolidate the peace process by giving continuity to the promising steps already taken — signing the agreement and normalizing relations — to ensure lasting peace in this region. This is the message we convey to all parties. We are ready to support and assist you in your efforts,” she added.
