Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Kuwait, Dr. Arsen Arakelyan, visited the UN Office in Kuwait. He met with the UN Resident Coordinator of the Kuwait Office, Ms. Ghada al-Tahir al-Mudawi, with UNDP, UNHCR, and IOM offices accommodated in the Kuwaiti UN house.
During the meetings, the parties discussed the dynamically developing cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the relevant specialized bodies of the UN, the existing issues, especially those related to the ongoing UN reforms, the solution of which requires the active participation of all member states.
The Resident Coordinator of the Office, as well as the Head of the UNDP Office Emma Morley, the Head of the UNHCR Nisrin Rubayan and the Head of the IOM Mazen Abul Hosn told Ambassador Arakelyan about the cooperation between their respective agencies and the Government of Kuwait and the partnership formed over the decades, which, according to international officials, is characterized as strong and saturated with the full realization of the obligations assumed by the country before the international community.
Ambassador Arakelyan offered all specialized UN agencies the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Kuwait in the comprehensive study and possible overcoming of the obstacles existing inside the country as well as those existing at the regional and global levels. He also presented some details of the foreign policy of the Republic of Armenia in Kuwait and other Gulf countries and some projects to be implemented by the Embassy in the near future.
