President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan has met with Italian art critic and art historian Francesco Gallo Mazzeo, who is visiting Armenia together with sculptor Vighen Avetis to deliver lectures.
President Khachaturyan welcomed the art critic’s visit to Armenia, highly appreciating his work in the field of art history and the study of cultural heritage, the President’s Office said in a press release.
The President emphasized the importance of exchanging international experience and knowledge, stressing that such interactions contribute to the professional growth of Armenian youth, the broadening of their worldview, and the development of creativity.
Francesco Gallo Mazzeo said that his interest and love for Armenia had formed years ago.
He mentioned that he is deeply impressed by the uniqueness of Armenian art, the richness of its cultural heritage, and the historical resilience of the Armenian people.
Speaking about present-day Armenia, the Italian art historian emphasized that he is inspired by the country’s efforts toward establishing peace. He wished peace, development, and prosperity to the people of Armenia.
The discussion also covered issues related to education, the preservation of traditions of passing down knowledge, and the importance of applying innovation.
Both sides emphasized that culture and education remain irreplaceable paths to development.
