Armenian Ambassador Grigor Hakobyan met with Ebrahim Azizi, Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Majlis. This was reported by the Armenian Embassy to Iran.
During the meeting, the Armenian-Iranian bilateral relations were discussed, and the need to further increase contacts between parliamentary committees was emphasized. The parties expressed their willingness to make efforts to strengthen ties between the legislative bodies of the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Ambassador Hakobyan presented to his interlocutor the results of the agreements reached in Washington on August 8, emphasizing that the process of unblocking the communication channels in the region will take place on the basis of the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction and reciprocity of states.
Ebrahim Azizi emphasized the importance of establishing peace in the South Caucasus, reaffirming that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes any step aimed at establishing peace and stability in the region.
