Systemic corruption has been eliminated in Armenia since the 2018 revolution, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said.
“There is no systemic corruption, and there will be no systemic corruption in Armenia,” he stated at the Armenian Forum for Democracy.
“Never before has there been a situation in Armenia where a sitting minister would be indicted or the head of the Civil Aviation Committee arrested for bribery — not to mention other high-ranking officials,” he added, referring to various high-profile arrests during his administration and highlighting strong anti-corruption measures, Armenpress reports.
Pashinyan acknowledged that manifestations of corruption unfortunately exist in all countries, but emphasized that systemic corruption has been eradicated in Armenia.
