US President Donald Trump said on Sunday (September 14) he is willing to impose sanctions on Russia but Europe has to act in a way that is commensurate with the United States, Reuters reports.
"Europe is buying oil from Russia. I don't want them to buy oil," Trump told reporters. "And the sanctions ... that they're putting on are not tough enough, and I'm willing to do sanctions, but they're going to have to toughen up their sanctions commensurate with what I'm doing."
Trump also said that he is confident Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vlodymyr Zelenski would take place "relatively soon" but said he would have to attend and "do all the talking" because, he said the two leaders hate each other.
