A long-term strategy is necessary to ensure strategic balance, so that we can move in that direction, also by carrying out tactical tasks, solve our issues, and be able to ensure security. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, stated this in his address at the Comprehensive Security and Resilience International Conference – 2025 that kicked off Monday in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan.
"In order for us to be able to ensure security and adapt to our environment, peace is necessary first of all; that is our priority strategic objective. Also, after having peace, to institutionalize it and make it a daily work of care, but also create an environment for the adaptation of security structures.
In terms of security, it is also necessary to be able to adapt the state as a whole because I believe that over the past four to five years, the large bunch of threats that we have had around Armenia, we have also been able to resolve most of them by adapting to that new environment. It is not that what we have today was given all at once; it took time for that.
We have now reached this point, but it is not as if the environment is static. One of the main reasons for this, according to experts, is technology, which has created a great opportunity to accelerate processes. Often, the biggest threat to states is their adaptation to the newly created environment,” Grigoryan stated.
