Serdar Kılıç, Turkey’s special representative for the normalization of relations with Armenia, stated during a conversation with journalists in Iğdır that he will meet with his Armenian counterpart to review the progress made and discuss previous steps taken in the normalization process.
“We will evaluate what can be done in the future, especially in terms of improving the economic life of both countries and the region,” Kılıç said.
He noted that the Armenian side also has a positive stance on opening the border. According to him, while certain technical preparations are still required before implementing specific projects, there are no issues concerning the intention to proceed.
The diplomat added that the delegation he leads will travel to Yerevan via the Alican border crossing in Iğdır for a series of meetings.
