At the exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) countries 'Zapad-2025' will work out the planning of the use of nuclear weapons. This was announced on August 31 by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, First Deputy Minister of Defense, Major General Pavel Muraveyko.
"As part of the exercise (approx. "West 2025"), planning for the use of all types of weapons is envisaged. You cannot use something that threatens the whole world and universal security. And we will learn how to plan it," Muraveyko is quoted as saying on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
The Major General also noted that the annual CSTO exercises include the programs "Interaction", "Echelon", "Search" and "Frontier". As part of the maneuvers, issues of ensuring public safety, countering external aggression, combating illegal armed groups and sabotage and reconnaissance groups will be worked out.
On the same day, it was reported that large-scale military exercises of the CSTO countries had started in Belarus. It was noted that during the exercises, modern methods developed based on the experience of recent conflicts will be used, including the use of unmanned aircraft, robotic systems, electronic warfare and modern IT systems for communications and communications.
