Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE, Alexander Lukashevich, announced the expected timeline for the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group.
According to Lukashevich, Russia supports the joint decision of Azerbaijan and Armenia to dissolve the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which was tasked with facilitating the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict but has been inactive in recent years. He told RBC that the process is expected to be completed by December 2025.
Lukashevich noted that the dissolution concerns three entities: the Minsk Group itself, the office of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office’s Personal Representative, and the High-Level Planning Group. “Given the position of the parties on the lack of purpose in maintaining these structures, we see no reason to prevent their dissolution,” the diplomat stated.
