In the context of the Armenian-Azerbaijani talks, Macron attached importance to the reopening of borders.
“We also discussed the hope that has emerged as a result of the meeting between Armenia and Azerbaijan organized by [US] President Trump on August 8. It is important for the progress to continue, which will enable to reopen all borders and strengthen regional cooperation,” Macron said.
Regarding Ukraine, Macron said he shares with Erdogan the goal of ending Russia’s war.
He said ending the war must feature strong security guarantees for Ukraine.
