Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan met with Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi, Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Head of Iran’s Planning and Budget Organization. Pourmohammadi also co-chairs the Armenia-Iran Intergovernmental Joint Commission.
According to the Armenian Government's press office, Grigoryan welcomed the Iranian delegation, noting the meeting as a valuable opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual interest. He also expressed appreciation for the official visit of the Iranian delegation, led by the President of Iran.
The two sides discussed the bilateral Armenia–Iran agenda and broader regional developments. Both emphasized the importance of unblocking regional transportation and communication links, stressing that this must be done in full respect for territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, and the principle of reciprocity.
Deputy Prime Minister Grigoryan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to strengthening relations with Iran, especially in the trade and economic sectors, highlighting the significant untapped potential in this area.
It was agreed that several key issues will be addressed within working group formats to ensure more effective and constructive outcomes.
