Reuters. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on Tuesday (July 29) that the situation in Gaza is "tough" but there are lies about starvation.
Israel on Sunday announced a halt in military operations for 10 hours a day in parts of Gaza and new aid corridors as Jordan and the United Arab Emirates airdropped supplies into the enclave, where images of starving Palestinians have alarmed the world.
Addressing a press conference in Israel's Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem, Saar said there was campaign of international pressure against Israel to end the war with Hamas still in power and enforce the establishment of a Palestinian state.
"It ain't gonna happen," Saar said.
Saar also said that military pressure in Gaza is effective but it is the not only option, adding that Israel is ready to also use diplomacy.
Egypt and Qatar, which mediate Gaza ceasefire talks, said that there has been progress in the talks, but the latest round of negotiations in Doha broke off last week without a deal in sight.
