Iran supports the settlement of the conflicts between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the acceleration of the process of signing a peace treaty. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei.
According to him, the Islamic Republic has also always supported the unblocking of communication channels as an important component of economic development.
“We are in favor of this process, but we have also clearly stated that these developments should not lead to a change in the geopolitical structure of the region. There is a common understanding on this issue,” the diplomat said.
He noted that another important circumstance is the issue of involving extra-regional actors, which Tehran considers not conducive to the development and security of the region.
