Russian special forces carried out mass arrests of Azerbaijanis in a suburban market in Moscow. The operation took place in the morning in the city of Mytishchi, Moscow region, during which Azerbaijanis were rounded up and taken away in buses.
Relations between Russia and Azerbaijan have been strained after representatives of the Azerbaijani community were detained in Yekaterinburg on suspicion of participating in a criminal group. Two of them died. After the incident, employees of Sputnik-Azerbaijan and several Russian IT specialists were detained in Baku.
