Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to immediately begin consultations with Azerbaijan to determine the time and venue for signing a peace treaty, as well as to discuss the full spectrum of normalization issues.
Speaking at a joint press conference with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, held at the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mirzoyan noted that the visit comes amid complex geopolitical developments, which further highlight the growing demand for peace and regional stability, as well as the challenges that lie ahead.
“In the context of regional connectivity, we discussed initiatives being implemented with the EU’s involvement. We emphasized the compatibility—and I would even say the complementarity—of the EU’s ‘Global Gateway’ strategy and the Armenian Government’s ‘Crossroads of Peace’ project. We can also refer here to the concept of the ‘Middle Corridor’,” Mirzoyan said, underlining the South Caucasus' role as a bridge linking Europe with Central and East Asia.
Mirzoyan also addressed the regional security landscape and shared updates on recent developments in the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process.
“As before, we remain committed to a constructive approach,” he added.
