Iran crossed red lines when it dared to fire missiles at Israeli civilian areas, Defense Minister Israel Katz said.
"We will continue to protect Israeli citizens and ensure that the ayatollah regime pays a heavy price for its criminal actions," the Minister said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently holding consultations with security agencies.
