The Israeli army used explosive-laden drones launched directly from Iranian territory during its strikes on Iran, the Ynet portal reported, citing a security source.
According to its information, the Israeli Mossad intelligence agency was able to establish a secret base near Tehran long before the start of the military operation against Iran, deploying suicide drones.
According to the Ynet source, the drones were activated on the night of June 12-13, when the Israeli Air Force began striking Iran. The devices were used to destroy missile launchers at one of the important military bases inside Iran.
In her first comments after the start of the strikes on Iran, Israeli army spokeswoman Effie Defrin described the troops' actions as a "preventive, targeted, combined offensive operation."
