Sanctions by the United States against Russia have been prepared. Congress and the White House are ready to approve them.
This was stated by the US Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, according to his interview with Fox News.
According to the official, the US sanctions package against Russia is already prepared.
"I talked to Lindsey Graham last weekend, and I believe the sanctions are ready; they are ready to go. They called 'The Russian Sanctions Act 2025.' And I think Graham has got them set and ready to drop," Kellogg said.
Kellogg also noted that the sanctions were considered quite burdensome, highlighting a proposed 500% tariff on imports to the United States as an example. He added that there was broad agreement on the issue within both Congress and the White House.
"Russia is a petrostate. A lot of their money comes from the petrochemicals. That's what we are really going after," the Trump envoy added.
