Turkey to take fingerprints of foreigners entering country

Turkey is preparing a bill on making fingerprinting mandatory for foreigners entering the country. The Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya told Sabah.
 
He also announced plans to chip the ID cards of people, who have received temporary protection status in the republic, especially Syrians. Yerlikaya said that it is impossible to forge such ID cards.
 
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey, there are 4.4 million foreigners in the country, 3.1 million of them are citizens of Syria. In addition, 1,109 million of them have a residence permit, and 224,000 are under international protection.
 
People with a residence permit include foreign students, domestic workers, rehabilitation workers, etc.
