Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced a record index in trade with Armenia, offering to start new projects and inviting Armenian businessmen to work more actively in the Russian market.
“At the level of governments, active work is being done to strengthen trade and economic cooperation, and despite the difficult external environment, our cooperation is developing successfully,” said the head of the Russian Government at the meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Mishustin noted that Russia is the leading foreign trade partner and main investor of Armenia's economy.
“In January-November, 2022, the turnover increased by 77% compared to the same period last year. It exceeded $4 billion 100 million, which is currently a record in our mutual trade,” Mishustin said.
According to him, the volume of accumulated Russian investments is about $2 billion, more than 40 leading Russian companies work in the Armenian market, they are among the largest taxpayers in Armenia.
“We sincerely appreciate the alliance and partnership relations with Armenia, our countries are connected by good fraternal relations, which are based on the historical friendship of the Russian and Armenian peoples,” Mishustin assured.
