The Chairwoman of Russia’s Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko expressed confidence that the good-neighborly relations between Russia and Armenia will continue to strengthen for the sake of peace, justice and prosperity, RIA Novosti reports.
“On behalf of the Federation Council, I congratulate you, all the deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and Armenia,” reads the telegram addressed to Armenia’s Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan.
Matviyenko noted that in the centuries-old history of true friendship, inviolable brotherhood and spiritual bond, this event marked the beginning of a qualitatively new stage in the allied cooperation between Russia and Armenia.
“Russia and Armenia continue to develop political dialogue, cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian, trade and economic spheres, and develop measures to meet the emerging challenges and threats. I have no doubt that we will continue to strengthen good-neighborly relations for the sake of peace, justice and prosperity,” the document reads.
The Chairwoman of the Federation Council is convinced that the joint work of the parliamentarians of the two countries will help improve the legal basis for the expansion of mutually beneficial ties, including in the field of Eurasian integration.
