Artsakh Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan published data on the citizens of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) who died as a result of the Azerbaijani aggression, disappeared, were taken prisoner and returned from captivity.
“According to the data obtained as a result of fact-finding work of the Artsakh Human Rights Defender, launched on September 27, 2020, 750 citizens of the Republic of Artsakh were killed as a result of the Azerbaijani aggression. Eighty-one of the killed people were civilians, 42 of them were killed by long shots by the Azerbaijani armed forces, 39 were captured by Azerbaijanis or at least under Azerbaijani control, using physical violence, stabbing, beheading, and gun shots. The number of killed servicemen includes the persons about whom the data were transferred to the Servicemen's Insurance Fund.
A total of 163 civilians were injured. We do not have the exact number of wounded servicemen at the moment.
According to the confirmed data, 83 people from the Republic of Artsakh are considered missing, 23 of whom are civilians.
“Twenty-three of the 103 captives returned from captivity are citizens of the Republic of Artsakh,” Stepanyan wrote on his Facebook page.
