The new Stepanakert-Martuni power line with 35-kilovolt voltage has been constructed since February 1, 2021. Part of the high voltage overhead line supplying electricity for Martuni region, Artsakh, was left in the territory under Azeri control.
“The works are done seven days a week, we have no weekend, and we work every day. If the weather is fine, we will finish the work in time, in accordance with the deadline,” Vahram Khachatryan, chief engineer of “Artsakhenergo” CJSC, said.
After repairing the damaged sections of the high-voltage power line, three 10-kilovolt power lines were brought from the neighboring communities to the Martuni region, recovering the 24-hour power supply.
“The last air power line was built on January 16,” said Masis Suleymanyan, head of “Varanda” network.
The 24-hour power supply, however, settled only part of the problem. The voltage is low - it does not provide proper power to consumers.
“Under such voltage circumstances, it is impossible to use even washing machines, or other artesian wells or various equipment,” Masis Suleymanyan said.
Representatives from “Artsakhenergo” assure that now the electricity supply in Martuni is less disrupted. The problem will be finally settled in late May, when the 35-kilovolt power line, left out of Artsakh's control, will be built.
“We will try to finish by late May, and to fully restore the Martuni region power supply,” said Vahram Khachatryan.
Now the specialists of the company are working in Askeran region, not far from Krasni village.
