Ralph Collier attempted to ease women’s chores in kitchen by introducing a mechanical mixer in 1856. Being a big fan of omelet, Collier knew the secret for a delicious omelet achieved with thorough mixing. This is how an eggbeater was invented. In 1870 Turner Williams improved an ordinary “eggbeater” by inventing a new device known as a mixer.
