Today, the European Union adopted a statement calling on businesses to invest in Armenia’s economy, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during joint statements with European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
“Throughout the entire period since independence, Armenia has generally been considered a high-risk zone for investment. Now, at the highest level, the EU is calling on and inviting businesses and investors to invest in Armenia. This is also a fact of historic significance, because we have never before issued-or heard from many of our international partners-such a call or message,” he said.
Documents were signed following the first Armenia-EU summit. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, European Council President António Costa, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. As part of the event, the EU handed over six letters of intent from key Armenian companies and foundations to support calls for investment in Armenia.
