Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan.
The guests were welcomed and guided during the visit by Acting Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hrachya Tashchyan, who presented the history, symbolism, and significance of the memorial complex.
The officials laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
Ms. Anand also toured the Armenian Genocide Museum, where, accompanied by guide Hasmik Martirosyan, she familiarized herself with the permanent and temporary exhibitions. She later signed the Guestbook of Honor.
Expressing gratitude for the visit, Acting Director Hrachya Tashchyan presented the distinguished guest with an English-language illustrated book published by the Armenian Genocide Museum.
