Russia will not participate in talks between Ukraine and the United States on March 21 but hopes that negotiations in the trilateral format will resume shortly, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"No, these will be bilateral contacts between the Ukrainians and the Americans," Peskov told reporters when asked whether Russia plans to take part in the upcoming U.S.-Ukraine talks.
"This pause [in negotiations on Ukraine] is temporary. We hope that it is temporary. I mean the continuation of the trilateral format. We hope that we will be able to continue these negotiations in the near future," he said.
There is currently no clarity regarding a possible venue for the next round of trilateral talks, he said.
