Kazakhstan highly appreciates the normalization efforts between Armenia and Azerbaijan and is ready to provide support, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a joint press conference with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Astana.
Tokayev said that important issues on the regional and international agenda were discussed during the meeting with PM Pashinyan, and in several areas, the positions of the two countries align.
“We aim to strengthen the measures being taken to achieve results. In this regard, Kazakhstan highly values the efforts of Armenia and Azerbaijan to normalize relations. We hope that this process will continue on a positive path, and we would be glad to support it,” he said.
The President of Kazakhstan specifically emphasized Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s role in promoting regional stability.
“Dear Prime Minister, your visionary and courageous steps in the pursuit of stability and peace in the South Caucasus are commendable. I wish you success in your responsible work for the development of Armenia and the enhancement of its international standing. Kazakhstan is ready to support you and the Armenian people on this path,” Tokayev concluded.
